Third of a new self-portrait series. Until I find a model other than a friend, this is my only avenue of experimentation- so please, no critisism about vanity.
These were all shot in my grandmother's barn (remember?) I found a neat old, cobwebby window up in the hay-loft where the chickens used to roost. Besides that window and a floor covered in bat guano, the only thing there are the bats in the rafters- and some creepy crawlies- mainly monster spiders. For these first three shots, I modified them in PictureIT, removing the background of the window. I will probably leave it in most of my other shots- it creats a wicked contrast. Comments and constructive critisism welcomed!!
I know have a new favorite in my collection. You have always had a way of taking just the right capture of the body you wanted to focus on. The odd prespectives are what brings the images together.
How do you compose such interesting, well balanced shots of YOURSELF? I have no clue where to start with something like that. Do you just guess a good camera position and then have one of those thingies on a cord? Hm. . .
Regardless, great shot. I'd love to see it with the window, as well.
